Privacy

A plain-language explanation of how the current DistriScope application handles the information you enter.

Statistical inputs

Core statistical calculations run in your browser. Values pasted into the Distribution Explorer, Comparator, Relationship Explorer, Data Fitting tool, or Calculator are used to produce the visible result and are not intentionally sent by DistriScope to a project-owned database. You should still avoid entering confidential, personally identifiable, or regulated information into a public web application.

Optional AI chat

The AI chat is closed by default and loads only after you choose to open it. If you use it, messages and related requests are handled through Puter services and may be subject to Puter’s account, service, and privacy terms. DistriScope does not ask you to paste an API key into the page. Review Puter’s privacy information before sending content, and do not include sensitive personal or research data.

Hosting and technical logs

The public site is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may process basic request information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps. Third-party links, including GitHub and Puter, have their own policies and are outside DistriScope’s control.

Cookies and analytics

DistriScope does not currently describe or depend on a project-owned advertising profile, marketing pixel, or analytics account in the application code. If analytics or additional data services are introduced, this notice should be updated before deployment and consent controls should be added where required.

Your choices and questions

You can use the core tools without opening AI chat. Closing the page clears ordinary in-memory calculation state unless your browser or a third-party service retains information under its own settings. Privacy questions or reproducible concerns can be submitted through the project’s GitHub issue tracker. Last reviewed 2026-07-30.
